It’s bittersweet as we say goodbye to our friends at Amazon Fresh in Woodland HIlls, who are closing their doors this month. Since March 2020, we have worked with them to help feed our clients. In fact, we attribute our success in staying open during the early months of COVID-19 to that store in particular. You see, the store was just about to open when the pandemic hit, then the world shut down, and everyone began sheltering at home, right as they were just about to open. They had purchased tons (literally) of food that would have gone to waste because they could not open their doors. Instead, they donated everything they could to us, which we then distributed to our clients. Ever since, their donations, from fresh produce to pantry staples, have helped us provide nutritious food to families and individuals in need every single weekday.
To the entire Amazon Fresh team: thank you for being more than a grocery partner — thank you for being a partner in compassion. Your impact will be felt long after the shelves are empty. We wish you all the best in your next chapter and hope you know how much your kindness has meant to our community.
