Join West Valley Food Pantry for Canstruction 2026, a community-wide creative competition taking place September 26–October 2, 2026, where teams will turn canned and nonperishable food into imaginative works of art. Whether you’re a business, school, community group, nonprofit, or simply a group of friends, you don’t have to be an architect, engineer, or professional builder to participate; you just need a creative idea, a willing team, and a heart for your community. Registration is open NOW – September 24, and the registration fee is just $25 per team. Teams are responsible for collecting the food they use to build their creations, and every can will ultimately be donated to West Valley Food Pantry to help feed local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Canstruction is more than a competition; it’s a fun way to bring people together while making a tangible difference right here in our community. Every week, West Valley Food Pantry provides food assistance to 550 households throughout the San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities, and we rely on the generosity of our neighbors to keep food on the tables of those who need it most. Teams will compete for the Grand Prize, along with awards for Best Original Design, Best Meal, Most Cans, People’s Choice, Best Use of Labels, Structural Integrity, and Honorable Mention.
Bring your team, unleash your creativity, and help us turn cans into something that matters. Can we count you in?
